Mine tin ore in the Shroud northwest of the Nomad Highlands Ancient Spire. This Shroud pocket is where to find tin in Enshrouded for your next Flame upgrade: clear the enemies, then mine the deposits on the left wall with a pickaxe.
Where to Find Tin Ore in Enshrouded: Northwest of the Spire
Start at the Nomad Highlands Ancient Spire and head northwest toward the small Shroud pocket below it.
Face northwest from the Ancient Spire
Look between west and north toward the rocky terrain and the Shroud below. This is the direction you want from the spire.

Locate the mining area
Travel into the Shroud pocket northwest of the spire. On the world map, the destination lies above and to the left of the Nomad Highlands spire marker.

Clear the enemies before mining
Defeat the creatures inside before turning to the left wall. You want room to swing your pickaxe without enemies interrupting you.

Mine the ore on the left wall
Look for small grey, silvery stones protruding from the rock. Strike the deposits with your pickaxe to collect Tin Ore.

In the pre-1.0 progression, Flame Level 4 opened the red Shroud passage into the Nomad Highlands. If red Shroud blocks your approach, work on your materials to upgrade Flame before this mining trip.
How to Farm Tin Ore Quickly: Clear the Mine Before Digging
For a straightforward tin run, clear the northwest Shroud mining area, then work through its nearby deposits instead of leaving after the first patch.
More ore extends farther into the same area. Once the creatures are dealt with, move along the deposits and keep mining while watching your Shroud timer.

A better pickaxe is worth bringing. Before 1.0, a Scrappy Pickaxe could mine tin and a Copper Pickaxe mined it faster, so copper was an efficiency upgrade rather than a requirement.
If you want another route, these pre-1.0 mining options offer different tradeoffs:
| Location | Reason to go | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Shroud Root cave near the spire | A small deposit behind the root | Clear the root first; the deposit is limited. |
| Mining Rift west of that cave | Plenty of tin and other ore | Flying bugs and extensive Shroud make preparation worthwhile. |
| Crack west of Umber Hollow | Mostly quiet mining | It's away from fast travel, and the mine is inside a Shroud pocket. |
At the Umber Hollow crack, nearby Grappling Anchors let you resurface and refresh your Shroud timer. The pre-1.0 yield was 100–200 Tin Ore per visit. Treat that as an older yield, rather than a target for every run.
Don't squeeze in another deposit when your Shroud time is running low. At the Mining Rift, take breaks out of the Shroud or bring Shroud Survival Flasks, especially if the flying enemies slow you down.
What Tin Ore Is Used For: Keep Raw Ore for the Flame
Keep raw Tin Ore for strengthening the Flame before turning your haul into bars.
In the pre-1.0 progression, reaching Flame Level 5 required 20 Tin Ore. That requirement used raw ore, so smelting the whole stack first would leave you without the right material for that upgrade.
Strengthening the Flame and expanding your altar's building area are separate actions. The older building-area upgrade used Shroud Cores. Match your haul to the action you want at the altar.
For crafting, tin can be smelted into bars and used toward bronze, equipment, and tools. In the pre-1.0 progression, the Blacksmith's Crucible Needed for a Smelter quest unlocked the Smelter. Keep your upgrade ore aside before spending the rest on crafting, and check the Enshrouded list of materials when planning the rest of your haul.
What Changed for Tin Mining: Stronger High-Tier Pickaxes
The 1.0 update increased higher-tier pickaxe damage and reworked the toughness of several mining materials.
It also reworked early crafting progression and reduced resource requirements for Flame Levels 6, 7, 8, and 9. Those higher-level reductions are separate from the older Flame Level 5 tin requirement above. Check the recipe displayed at your altar before deciding how much ore to keep.
Once you have your tin, return to the Flame Altar and set aside the raw ore your strengthening recipe needs.
